Formed in 1992, Acorn Stairlifts is an international, privately owned company, whose headquarters and manufacturing facility are located in the heart of Yorkshire, in Northern England.

Acorn started by buying, reconditioning and reselling pre-owned stair lifts, as well as buying in new lifts from other UK manufacturers. Within a very short space of time, it became obvious that it was necessary to design and manufacture an all-new stairlift, one that had all of the outdated stair lift features removed. From this decision, the Acorn Superglide Stairlift was born, soon to become a market leader. To this day, it remains at the forefront of stairlift technology.

Manufactured in the UK the Liberator range of stairlifts have been designed to offer maximum safety, reliability and comfort for those who find difficulty in negotiating stairways in their homes and public premises.

While most other stairlift companies do not buy back stairlifts, if one of our customers no longer needs theirs we try to help them as much as possible. We sometimes would buy them back, especially if the customer wanted a quick sale but usually what we do is take the stairlift out and put it in storage - free of charge - and then try to sell it on for whatever price the customer would like to get for it and so this is where our second hand, reconditioned straight stairlifts come from.
